  • ■高山外国人避暑地
  • 　1888年、七ヶ浜半島の南東端の花渕浜高台には、外国人専用の避暑地が開発された。当時第二高等学校の教師だったハーレル博士が発見、東北学院長だったシュネーダ博士が避暑地として在仙外国人を勧誘し、別荘を建てたのが始まりである。山の軽井沢、湖の野尻湖、海の高山と称され、日本三大外国人避暑地の一つとされる。1907年に七ヶ浜村と999年の地上権が結ばれた。

  • Takayama Resort for expatriates
  • The elevated ground of Hanabushihama, located the southeast tip of Shichigahama peninsula was developed to be the summer resort for expatriates in 1888. Dr. Hurrell, who was a teacher in the Second High School at that time, first discovered the location, and Dr. Schneder, who was the President of Tohoku Gakuin, invited the expatriates in Sendai as a summer resort. Along with the mountains in Karuizawa, the lake in Nosiliko, the sea in Takayama is considered to be one of Three Best Summer Resort for the Foreigners. The company which manages the resort has the 999-year surface right contract with the town of Shichigahama in 1907.

  • 町の北東、代ヶ崎浜には、東北電力仙台火力発電所がある。

  • Sendai Thermal Power Plant for Tohoku Electric Power Company is located in Yogasakihama in the northeast part of the town.
  • ■汐見台ニュータウン
  • 　1972年町が策定した長期発展構想の中で将来人口の増加を図るため100haの大規模宅地開発を位置づけられた。町が西洋環境開発（当時西武都市開発）と官民共同開発を行ったニュータウン。汐見台は、北工区1059戸、南工区600戸の分譲住宅が建設された。中でも海の見える南端部の宅地は、300m2前後の大型宅地が価格も比較的高かったが任期があった。1980年9月分譲開始されたエリアである。 （どんな人が住んでいるのだろう？仙台への通勤者？）
  • Shiomidai Newtown
  • The large-scale housing land development of 100ha was assigned in 1972 in order to promote the population increase conceived in the Long-term Development Plan by the town. The Newtown was developed by the town together with Seiyo Kankyo Kaihatsu (then Seibu Toshi Kaihatsu). 1059 units of privately-owned houses in North area and 600 units in South area are constructed in Shiomidai. Among them, the southmost lots with the view of the sea, had the large plot about 300m2, and their prices were relatively high, but very popular. It was started to be on the market in September 1980.
  • ■菖蒲田海水浴場
  • 　1888年に東北で初めて、全国でも3番目に開設された海水浴場で、夏でも波が穏やかであり、宮城県内最も利用客の多い海水浴場であり、毎年5万人の海水浴客で賑わっていた。しかし、東日本大震災を機に遊泳禁止となっている。町は、一日も早く復興し、再びオープンしたいと考えている。
  • Shobuta Swimming Beach
  • Shobutahama Swimming Beach is the first swimming beach opened in Tohoku Area, as well as the third in entire Japan. The waves in the area are calm even in summer, and it used to be the most popular swimming beach in Miyagi Prefecture with 50,000 visitors every year. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, swimming is forbidden in the beach. The town wishes to reconstruct the Beach Resort and reopen it as soon as possible.
  • ■吉田浜
  • 吉田浜の漁業の歴史は、七ヶ浜町の漁業の歴史と言っても過言ではない。藩政時代、沿岸・近海にて行っていた漁業は、大正から昭和にかけて漁場を沖へと拡げ、カムチャッカ海域にまで拡大してきた。昭和30年代後半からは、北洋底引き網業も盛んになった。
  • Yoshidahama
  • The fishing history of Yoshidahama is the fishing history of Shichigahama itself. The fishing was done along the coast and in the adjoining sea in Edo period, but the fishing ground expanded to the offshore towards Kamchatka water from Taisho period to Showa period. The dragnet fishery in North Waters became popular from the early 60’s.

  • 現在は県内有数のサーフスポットで、年中賑わいを見せる。
  • Azukihama
  • Azukihama is the one of the famous surfing spot and popular throughout the year.
  • ■表浜
  • 高山外国人避暑地に隣接していることから、外国人でも賑わう砂浜である。波が穏やかなので、家族連れに人気の海水浴場ですが、東日本大震災を機に遊泳禁止となっている。
  • Omotehama
  • Since Omotehama is adjacent to Takayama Resort, many foreigners come to this beach as well. The waves are calm, so the area is popular among families, but swimming is forbidden in the beach since the Great East Japan Earthquake.
